Welcome to registration for the 82nd Annual Midwest Fish & Wildlife Conference
We are designing this meeting to be a hybrid event to allow those unable to travel to have access to content as well as a variety of other ways for all participants to engage and connect with colleagues in the natural resources community. We realize the impact of COVID-19 is still being felt across our region on state resources and public health, and we hope this hybrid option provides flexibility and the convenience of being able to participate remotely for those who are unable to be onsite due to travel or budget or other restrictions. Please see below for a brief overview of the hybrid format, as well as the registration options and fees.
What will the hybrid program look like?
In Person: There will be a comprehensive program in Des Moines featuring all of the traditional Midwest favorites including: Welcome Social, Plenary Sessions, Poster Session & Social, Awards, Student Events, Committee Meetings, and Concurrent Technical Sessions & Symposia. Experience these in real time in Iowa!

Virtual: We will be using a platform called “Whova” to deliver online content and to serve as the conference site for the in person and virtual audiences to access. The technical program including General Contributed Tracks and Organized Symposia will all be available to a virtual audience at the same time as the in-person event is taking place. Additionally, virtual attendees will be able to experience these featured events on the Whova site: Livestreamed Plenary Sessions & Awards, Poster Gallery, Sponsor Gallery, and Community Board of discussion topics.

Note: the Full/In Person Registration fee will also give attendees access to the Whova site with all of the virtual content and engagement opportunities. Attendees will have access to this site up to a week before the event dates, and up to 3 months after. There’s a desktop and mobile app version for greater flexibility.

*Why are we charging the same for virtual and in person registration?
There are significant technology costs associated with offering a fully virtual experience. All sessions, meetings, and student events will be available to join remotely by logging in to a zoom session. In order to provide adequate staffing to manage the complexities of this hybrid event, we deemed it necessary to charge the same registration fee whether you are attending in person or virtual only.
